AKT’s hard coking coal is hauled by truck  from the company’s Coal Handling and Processing Plant to the Muara Tuhup coal port, where it is loaded to barges by a conveyor barge loader and then barged down the Barito river to an Intermediate Stock Pile (ISP) / port at Damparan. The coal is then barged to the Taboneo coal port for transhipment by ocean going  vessels to  customers in several different countries.

Since the commencement of commercial production in 2009, AKT has been aggressively marketing its premium quality hard coking coal. Today, it has built up a strong customer base with reputable buyers from steel manufacturers in Japan, Taiwan, China, Korea, India, Vietnam and Turkey. AKT’s marketing advantage is its proximity to key  Asian customers which provides the company with a sustained competitive cost advantage over other hard coking coal producers in Australia and North America. The partnership with world renown coal marketing agent  for global marketing has enabled  AKT to  strengthen relationship with reputable steel mills and coke producing customers, including General Nice,Bao Steel of China, Japan’s JFE Steel and Nishin Steel, Taiwans China Steel, India’s JSM Steel and Tata Steel, Korea’s Hyundai Steel.
